Make a Happy Face for Both You and Environment with Comme des Garçons PLAY x Converse

This model from the collaboration of Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons and Converse is definitely a proud star model for both Comme des Garçons and Converse. It is the second collaboration between these two world-renowned brands after their first successful cooperation on Japanese market. This series include four models, two are high sneakers and the other two are low sneakers, each is available in black and white colors. It has made a great hit on the shoe market around the world since its launch, from Tokyo to New York, on the streets of Kong Hong and Seoul, throughout Paris and London, the little hearts with smiling faces on them are seen everywhere, making all young fashion fanatics around the globe go crazy for them.

This collaborated work is designed by the Japanese master Rei Kawakubo based on the original design of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star for American military back in the 50s. The classic Converse design continues its simple style, using single color directly bring out the modern vibe of our contemporary age. To prevent this model from looking dull in single color, Rei Kawakubo adds bright logo in red in a hand-painted style. The little red heart with two alerted eyes make the whole shoes feel fun and lively, making a striking comparison with the otherwise monotonous common design and increasing people’s mood once they set their eyes on them. Rei Kawakubo even adds a cute little heart in the logo design, making the logo pretty self-evident in its free-spirited design. This popular pair of shoes has been many celebrities’ favorite and is greatly supported by the most stylish Hong Kong performer Edison Chan, which makes this model the hottest sneakers on Chinese mainland market.

In addition, the reason for which makes this model so popular not only lies in its adorable look, but also the concept about going green hidden in its design. All material for producing this series is from recycled tires. And according to the designer Rei Kawakubo, her inspiration for the hand-painted heart design is intended to raise more awareness of environment protection in people and advocate people to go green by doing everything they can.

Converse has never disappointed its fans with its great and creative design and this time we have every reason to believe these fashion fanatics can also make good environmentalists in response to Converse’s advocating in environment protection cause.
